We Expect Nothing Less Than Greatness: A Player’s Look at the 2026 BYU Defense

This year, expect a lot of the same scheme — but with Coach Popp's own flare on it. I know everyone is eager to see how the defense will look without Coach Hill as DC and Coach Gilford running the helm as passing game coordinator, but we'll be better than ever. Truth be told it is an adjustment, but the players are what will allow us to make that jump. We have experience on every level of the defense and we know how to play together and for each other.

We expect nothing less than greatness.
