I think the most important question that can be answered from spring ball is the O Line situation. You have a new coach, and two spots open with Paul Maile and Kingsley Suamatia departing. Some may argue that it is the QB battle that is the most interesting. That’s a fair argument to make, but I’ll just say that spring won’t get you too much more info on QBs besides maybe this. Jake has really taken care of the ball well and knows the offense at a high level.
The reason I don’t think it tells you too much is that the WRs are telling me that Gerry seems to be throwing better and seems to be trusting his shoulder more now. I still think Jake will be the guy come week one, but I think it is too soon to know anything definitive just yet. The coaches knew Gerry would take time coming back from that shoulder, and I think Jake is right where he wants to be at the end of Spring Ball. So the QB stuff is kind of a nothing burger at the moment. Which means this O Line information is the most intriguing and I do have some good details on that.
