King of The Ring, A BYU Football Dance Battle Story

*This article was written by a player for an NIL deal. He was paid to share a fun or interesting story. He said this was one story he wished fans could have been there for. He said that the dance move in the picture was one that a lot of the players will never forget*

From the player:

“After every game we have a “team dance party” where we play a couple of the guys’s favorite songs and celebrate to. A lot of the time we’ll even have a dance circle break out where if one is feeling confident enough will jump in the middle and bust a move solo! It’s actually quite entertaining and fun. The typical guys who are in the middle are guys like Darrius, coach hill, and even Kalani will get in there and steal the show! However the king of the dance circle is Dalton Riggs. He is a lot more talented dancing wise than many people would initially assume. At least it shocked me!

After the huge win for us against Cincinnati, we were all turning up in the locker room as a team, staff, and even the recruits were there. Once we got to the point where the solo dance circle broke out, everybody would get in there doing the typical dances especially the trendy ones from TikTok, but then Dalton jumped in the circle. When I tell you he stole the show, HE STOLE THE SHOW! My man jumped in the circle, threw out some random jigg, then jumped up in the air and landed in a full split! On purpose too!

The players faces reacting to this are priceless

The crazy thing is that it was actually very impressive. Nevertheless it still caught everyone with their jaws dropped in total awe. For a second we all looked at each other in shock, and then closed in on him in the circle and turned up with him! That was the move that ended the circle that night and it was turnt!”

About CougConnect:

CougConnect is a BYU fan community that was created at the request of the players. There were players donating plasma before lifts and practice, which made them light headed and weak at practice. There were players missing church on Sunday mornings delivering Walmart grocery pick up orders through Uber eats. Or working late nights collecting shopping carts at Walmart. All because they didn’t have the flexibility in their schedules with lifts, practices and school to get and hold a real job.

The players asked us to help them earn more NIL and we created CougConnect. Players have been involved with the direction and decision making since the beginning. It’s the most player guided NIL company that we are aware of.

CougConnect was started to help connect players with fans through articles, Q&A and in person events. It has grown to nearly 1,500 paying subscribers and has paid around $250,000 to players over the last two years. And the majority of that money has been to help players who are need. We have helped pay family hospital bills, car repairs, apartment repairs, bought player’s family’s Christmas who didn’t have anything, flown players home to care for their families when they don’t have anyone else and much more like it.

We made this article free to share a fun story with fans. We hope it made you smile. BYU has a football program unlike an other and we are lucky to be able to be connected to the players and work with them. If you’re a BYU fan and love to see cougars be successful on and off the field you should consider becoming a CougConnect subscriber. 90% or more of all subscriptions are used to create NIL deals for players.

We try and add value to our subscribers with articles, Q&A with players in our discord, and events. We will soon be adding another way for fans to get value and support local small businesses at no extra expense to the subscribers. We feel this will eventually be a subscription that all BYU fans will have and find a lot of satisfaction in. We hope you’ll join with us to make the BYU Football experience even better for the players here and more appealing to recruits and transfers everywhere. Go Cougs!!
