As a football player, this time of year (the month of December) is full of emotions. This year, many of us players get the long awaited opportunity to go back home and spend some meaningful time with family. Our last true break was back in may when we got done with spring ball. We have a few discretionary weeks during the summer and some just before fall camp. So, this break during Christmas, extended this year, can be a great blessing to us and our families
We all wish to be preparing for and playing in a bowl game, which this year obviously we didn't make that happen. I personally feel that only adds to the fuel tank for this off season. Many of you, probably all, would say that we’ll have to see how we do next year. For us. Next year starts in January when we are back to full time training right when this break ends. With our current circumstance being the way it is ending last season the way we did. Most all of us are anxious to get back to work. Time with family for me only motivates me to train harder when everybody comes back to Provo. Each of us represents the name on our back when we step on the field. That means something different for all of us but the point is, it represents something important. Something personal and intimate. For us, we play for the “Y” on our chest and the name on the back.
