This week has been one emotional roller coaster ride, to say the least. We heard rumors that Coach Pope would be interviewing for Kentucky earlier last week. We had a team meeting Friday morning where Coach Pope told us the news about him taking the job. It was a hard goodbye however we built something here at BYU that cannot be overlooked. We are a preseason top-15 team and are excited to take on this new chapter of BYU Basketball. We will all continue to have love and respect for Coach Pope and his family and wish him the best of luck.
As the weekend rolled over many of the guys on the team jumped into the Transfer Portal. Other guys decided to wait and give the next coach the chance to recruit them and stayed “Y strong”. This was a grueling process and there were many uncertainties and “what ifs” that swirled the mind. Then we finally got to Tuesday!
