Will BYU’s young secondary pick up where it left off this last season? The answer is yes, 100%. Many might look at the obvious with Jakob Robinson gone, Marque Collins gone there may be a few concerns about how this secondary and more specifically, the corners. After 2 back to back years of superb corner play from BYU, there will be shoes to fill but if you’ve been anywhere near this program the last year you’d know that the high level talent in this corner room will be here for a very long time.
As For the older guys in the room, Mory Bamba & Evan Johnson. Both made huge strides this past off season in both their play and the mental aspect of the game. Mory Bamba, who was granted an extra year of eligibility will be coming back this season with great momentum. Ending off the 2024 season on a good note was big for the senior, considering the fact that getting reps and more experience was the biggest thing for him. This offseason season that will continue to be the main focus. Getting reps and getting even more comfortable with the scheme will show in the 2025 season and it will not be a surprise how well he’ll perform.
